1. General Information and Nature of the Software

Simple Manga Tracker is a personal utility tool designed to organize titles, links, and reading metadata within the user’s browser.

• The extension acts strictly as a technical container and a private organizer.
• The software is not a public directory, does not feature an external search engine, and does not index internet content on its own.

2. Intellectual Property and Copyright

2.1. Software Ownership and Third-Party Licenses

The original source code, interface, design, and branding of Simple Manga Tracker are the exclusive property of its creators and are protected by intellectual property laws.

The software utilizes third-party graphical resources, respecting their respective licenses. Specifically, it uses fonts under the Font Awesome free license, and the main icon is a Manga icon created by Freepik - Flaticon.

The use of the extension, whether in its free version or through the acquisition of a Pro or Cloud Plan, grants the user a personal, limited, and non-exclusive license. Under no circumstances does the download, use, or payment for the service transfer any rights of intellectual property, commercialization, or distribution of the software to the user.

2.2. Regulatory Compliance (User Copyright)

We strictly respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same.

• The extension does not host, distribute, reproduce, or facilitate access to copyrighted material.
• All content managed through the extension is added manually, privately, and independently by the user.
• The user assumes exclusive legal responsibility for the origin and legitimacy of the links they choose to store using our software.

3. Licenses, Payments, and Refunds

The access to advanced features and backup services is governed by the following commercial conditions:

3.1. Acquisition Methods

• Pro Plan: Acquired through a one-time payment. It provides permanent access to advanced extension features linked to the user’s browser synchronization account.
• Cloud Plan: Offered under a subscription model (monthly or annual). This plan enables the cloud backup and data custody service. Data retention conditions in case of cancellation are detailed in section 3.4.

3.2. Pricing and Billing

Prices for each plan (Pro and Cloud) are those publicly displayed on the Gumroad platform at the time of purchase. All payments, including tax collection (VAT/GST) and the issuance of legal invoices, are processed securely through said platform, with Gumroad acting as the official seller (Merchant of Record). The user is responsible for providing accurate billing information and keeping it updated to avoid interruptions in the Cloud Plan.

3.3. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee for both plans (Pro and Cloud), starting from the initial purchase date. The refund amount will correspond exactly to the amount paid by the user at the time of the transaction, deducting any applied discounts or promotions.

• Procedure: The user must contact our technical support (simplemangatracker@outlook.com) to request a refund. This request must include the email address used for the purchase and the license key acquired. We will manage the order through Gumroad.

• Effect of Refund or Non-payment: If a refund is processed or a chargeback occurs, the contractual relationship for said license shall be deemed terminated from its origin. In this case, access to the specific features of the refunded plan will be immediately revoked.

  • If the refund or non-payment corresponds to the Cloud Plan, all cloud backups associated with that account will be immediately and irreversibly deleted.
  • If the refund or non-payment corresponds to the Pro Plan, previously generated premium data and metadata will not be deleted, as they reside in the user’s local storage. However, the interface to view, edit, or create new ones will be locked.

3.4. Continuity Guarantee (Cloud Plan)

We understand that technical errors or personal emergencies may prevent a payment. Therefore, if the user has made at least one successful payment (monthly or annual) and the subscription is cancelled or interrupted:

1. No new cloud backups will be performed or saved.
2. However, the last saved backup will remain accessible for recovery or consultation for one (1) year (12 months) from the date of the last successful payment. After that period, the data will be permanently deleted.
3. This guarantee DOES NOT apply if the user actively requests a refund (see section 3.3).

3.5. Personal and Non-Transferable License

Licenses are for the exclusive personal use of the purchaser.

• Each license is technically and legally linked to the email address used during the purchase on Gumroad.
• Although a key could technically be shared, the transfer of licenses to third parties is prohibited.
• Support Limitation: Technical support will be provided solely to the original purchaser. We cannot offer assistance, data recovery, or technical support to third parties using a license key not associated with their identity in our sales records for security and ownership verification reasons.

4. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

4.1. Third-Party Websites

The extension has no affiliation, sponsorship, association, or control over the websites whose URLs the user chooses to save. We are not responsible for the availability, content, security, privacy policies, or any damage resulting from accessing these external pages.

4.2. “As Is” Clause

The software and its associated services are provided “as is” and “as available.” While we strive to provide a stable tool, we do not guarantee that the software will be error-free. We are not responsible for the incidental loss of local data resulting from browser failures, operating system updates, or improper handling of the device by the user.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Simple Manga Tracker (“we,” “the extension,” or “the software”) handles user information. Our fundamental principle is privacy by design and total transparency regarding your data.

1. Data Collection and Usage

The extension functions as a personal management tool. We do not track, collect, or analyze your general browsing history. When the user chooses to interact with the extension, it is limited to capturing the following technical data and metadata locally:

• Page title (document.title).
• Page URL (document.href).
• Metadata manually added by the user (favorites, notes, reading status, publication status, release day, etc.).

2. Data Storage

Local Storage

All user-generated data and metadata are stored exclusively in the browser’s local storage. If the user acquires the Cloud Plan, the corresponding license key is stored strictly on the local device, linking backup access to a single device.

Synchronization (Sync Storage)

For Pro Plan users, the license key that unlocks advanced features is stored using the browser’s synchronized storage (sync.storage). This allows the user to maintain automatic access to Pro features when logged into their browser account on another device.

Cloud Storage and Encryption (Cloud Plan)

If the user chooses to subscribe to the Cloud Plan, data is transmitted and stored in an encrypted format to protect against unauthorized third-party access.

The encryption key is linked to the user’s license. While we technically possess the ability to decrypt this information (for maintenance, technical support, or data recovery in case of critical error), we strictly commit to not accessing, analyzing, reading, or sharing your data under any circumstances, unless there is an express request from the user to manage their information.

3. Third-Party Services and Premium Features

To activate the Pro Plan and/or the Cloud Plan, the extension requires a license key generated and managed by the secure payment platform Gumroad.

Once the user enters said license key, the extension transmits it securely during initial activation and subsequently performs automatic, periodic checks with Gumroad’s servers. This process’s sole purpose is to verify that the license remains active and to prevent unauthorized use of the software. We do not process, receive, or store bank or credit card details.

4. User Rights and Data Retention

The user has total control over their data:

• Local Deletion: The user can delete all their information at any time by clearing the extension data or uninstalling it from their browser.
• Cloud Deletion: The user can permanently and irreversibly delete all their Cloud Plan backups directly from the extension’s options panel.
